Here at Mill Creek Gerbils, we strive to bring customers the best quality gerbils in West Virginia. Our gerbils are show-bred for quality, longevity, health, temperament, and unique color. We breed according to standards set by the American Gerbil Society and we abide by their Bylaws and Code of Ethics. Our gerbil kennel is located in Charleston, West Virginia and we are the only registered gerbil breeder in our state.
We take great care in raising and placing our gerbils. Every gerbil is watched carefully and cared for individually from the time of birth until they leave our care, so they are guaranteed to be healthy and well mannered in the new home. Our gerbils are cheaper than the average pet store, and we make sure our customers are properly educated before they take their new babies home. All of our gerbils are also hand raised, and therefore they are hand tamed and easy to handle. We can assure customers that their new companion(s) will be friendly and lovable from the start.
Our gerbils are fed a healthy homemade diet fit to sustain themselves and their pups. Pregnant and nursing females also receive extras to be sure they have enough protein to provide for the pups. Pups are weaned at six weeks of age, no sooner. During this time they are watched closely for any signs of respiratory infection.
Our breeding program came out of love for the animals. Harlee Beasley, our owner and founder, fell in love with small mammals at a young age. As she grew, so did her love. It resulted in her extensive study, preparation, and determination to create her own breeding program, and that she did. She cares for and loves everyone of the rodents in our care. For her, seeing them adopted brings a bitter-sweet feeling. That's why we do our best to be absolutely sure that the gerbil will be in a loving home.
